Battle of Orshа. 510 years ago, on September 8, 1514, the Polish-Lithuanian-Rus army led by Konstantin Ostrozky defeated the army of the Moscow principality.
On September 8, 2024, at 12:00 p.m., the exhibition “Orsha 1514: Triumph of Will and Unity” opened at the Ostroh Castle in the Rivne Region. It was organized by the Ostroh State Historical and Cultural Reserve in cooperation with the “Princes of Ostroh Brotherhood” and support of the Polish Institute in Kyiv.
The event is timed to the 510th anniversary of the Battle of Orsha, one of the key victories of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, Poland and Rus, which stopped Moscow’s expansion. The exhibition focuses on the role of the Great Hetman of Lithuania Konstantin Ivanovich Ostrozky, who led the united army.
The exhibition offers a unique look at the Battle of Orsha. It presents an interactive painting “The Battle of Orsha”, large-scale models of the battle, as well as commemorative coins, portraits and other artifacts that tell about the glorious page of Ukrainian, Polish and Lithuanian history. It allows viewers to immerse themselves in events that symbolize the will and unity of peoples in the struggle for freedom.
The exhibition will be on display for three months.
