A 36-year-old local resident informed the police about the explosions in the Sarny district on August 26, around 7:00 p.m.
The investigation team at the scene established that a 50-year-old resident of the Sarny region was grazing cows near the Ukraine-Belarus border.
However, being drunk, he fell asleep. Therefore, two animals entered the minefield and triggered the mines.
The police urge citizens:
- Do not ignore warning signs;
- Do not build a fire nearby;
- When driving on the road, do not pull over to the side;
- Do not graze cattle on or near mined areas.
